Walking Trips
Your Invitation To Walk In Our Sanctuary
Before the January 2020 bushfires, we offered walks similar to the one listed below. Stay in touch with us as Hanson Bay recovers and regenerates alongside all of western Kangaroo Island and we’ll let you know when the walking trails re-open!
Discover breathtaking wilderness beaches and abundant wildlife as you explore south west Kangaroo Island based at the Hanson Bay cabins. Bring a small group or join an existing trip and traverse this wonderfully wild landscape. The Hanson Bay walk offers an exhilarating experience. Each evening sit on your veranda and watch the waves roll in on one of Australia’s great ocean beaches.
Over the course of four days, immerse yourself in one of the most pristine environments that Australia has to offer. Walk the rugged cliffs, wilderness beaches and explore freshwater lagoons and numerous old-growth native vegetation zones. Marvel at the abundance and diversity of wildlife on our nocturnal sanctuary walk.
Taking the best sections of the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail and wildlife walks through sections of the sanctuary seldom open to the public make this a unique walking and wildlife tour.
